Essence of Yin retreat
Embark on a gathering of sisterhood, in the Sacred Valley of Peru. 7 days, 6 nights women’s retreat in the high Andes.
Held by the watchful presence of the Apus, and facilitator Amy Bichajian, this retreat is an invitation into restoration and remembrance. For one week, we gather in devotion to the Earth, to one another, and to the wisdom carried within our bodies.
The energy carried throughout our time together is rooted in the Quechua principle of ayni—sacred reciprocity. We begin our week in right relationship with the land through traditional Andean ceremony, prayer, and cultural exchange.
Our days weave yin yoga, yoga nidra, ceremony, grief tending, earth altars, feminine embodiment sessions, downtime, adventure into town, and textile weaving with Quechua women of the Sacred Valley. Throughout this retreat, spaces are intentionally created to restore your nervous system, reconnect with what is sacred, and return to a life with greater presence, devotion, and belonging. Healing sisters wounds and our wombs, in sacred reciprocity with land, soma and Spirit.
What your retreat journey includes —
-
Beginning on your arrival into Cusco Airport, you will be brought to Melissa Wasi Retreat Center in Pisac, about a 45 minute drive into the Sacred Valley. The 6 night stay and three meals each day are included.
-
As a devotional retreat, ceremony is woven throughout our time together. Throughout the week, Amy will guide a variety of rituals and ceremonial experiences including cacao, grief tending, fire ceremony, womb practices, and goddess treatments.
-
As a yoga teacher for over 10 years, Amy will lead daily feminine embodiment sessions, yin yoga, yoga nidra and/or gentle vinyasa / mobility sessions. All classes are attuned to the energy of the group and space.
-
One day we will immerse in the living traditions of the Sacred Valley visiting Quechua women who have preserved the ancestral art of Andean textile weaving for generations. Through story, demonstration, and hands-on learning, we are invited into a deeper understanding of the relationship between craft, culture, land, and lineage. This experience is an opportunity to learn directly from Indigenous women, honor their traditions, and witness the beauty of a way of life rooted in community, reciprocity, and devotion to the Earth.
